Summer’s Here… & so is your guide to a new wardrobe!

Not only is it already difficult to put together the perfect outfit to be stylish yet comfortable in the heat; shopping for said items can be frustrating. The majority of stores and outlets are pulling out shorter, more revealing numbers that can be hard to work around. To avoid making summer shopping trips a chore, here are 4 quick tips on what to look for and how to integrate them into your wardrobe!

  1. Know the Style You’re Going For

Wandering eyes can be confused eyes. If you are going shopping with the goal to find summer clothes, it can be advantageous to know what style works for you. Are you more into maxi skirts paired with a cute top? Or are you leaning more towards a pant with a cool flowing shirt? Don’t be afraid to pick up a few magazines or browse online to get a good idea of this year’s summer trends, what interests you and what you’d like to avoid. This will make walking into a store much less overwhelming!

  1. Look for Staple Items

As for any time of the year, it’s always a good idea to find a few items that can be reworked into several different outfits, saving you time, money and overthinking. Here is one example:  T H E  J E A N  J A C K E T

  • As simple as it is, throwing a jean jacket overtop a jumpsuit, a maxi dress, or simply over a t-shirt can add dimension to an outfit. Additionally, it often comes in a wide variety of models – some with a heavier or lighter weight denim – making it easier to pick out the one that’s right for you.

  1. Yes, You Can Still Layer

It’s just about finding the right pieces in the right fabric! Even on those hotter days, you can still rock one of those long air-y ‘summer jackets’ that are trending. They can easily add a pop of color all the while giving you the coverage you might be looking for. They can also be worn with essentially any and everything! ifdc

  1. Set Your Budget Before Heading Out

Depending on your budget, looking online is often a great choice prior to going in store. Especially when transitioning between seasons, many stores will offer end of season sales on certain items. Checking out the sales online will give you a better idea of what’s out there and where the best deals are! Lastly, don’t be afraid to experiment! Summer is the perfect time to try bold prints, subtle pastels, and different fabrics. It may take a little hit and miss at first, but once you know what works on you, the opportunities are as endless as the long summer days !
