Meet the Muslim queens of Instagram

Muslim women have taken to social media in a big way to help to break down misconceptions about their faith. Here’s ten Instagramers you should be following. Asian Image: @ibtihajmuhammad Ibtihaj Muhammad is a female Muslim fencing champion. She started fencing when she was 13-years-old. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Ibtihaj will be the first US athlete who has worn a hijab at the Olympics. With over 32k followers on Instagram, she was even included in the Time’s 100 most influential individuals. Ibtihaj also launched her own fashion label, Louella. Asian Image: @dinatokio Dina Tokio is a fashion and lifestyle blogger and designer. She has over 961k followers on Instagram. The half Egyptian half English blogger has even collaborated with Liberty on a range of scarves. Dina’s blogs includes fashion and makeup tips, as well as weight loss ideas since giving birth to her daughter Hana. Asian Image: @withloveleena  Leena Asad is a nurse from Texas. She also runs a fashion and lifestyle blog. Leena has over 307k followers on her Instagram page and it is easy to see why. Her style is simple, clean, neat, and always pictured against a stunning backdrop. Her useful fashion tips for Ramadan can be seen on her blog @arabbarbie18 Some of the jewellery ideas on this Instagram page may be a bit too daring and ostentatious for many people, but they make for stunning pictures! From glittery lips, to heavy nose jewellery to unique hijab jewellery, the ideas are ample. Asian Image: @dianpelangi  Indonesian designer Dian Pelangi has over 4 million followers on Instagram. On her Instagram feed she describes herself as a ‘fashionpreneur.’ Her pictures are an amalgamation of gorgeous images from her travels around the globe. In 2012 Pelangi published her own book, a visual street-style collection of Muslim women who had inspired her on her travels. Asian Image: @rania.qureshi  This is an interesting find. Whilst Rania Quershi does not have the same following in terms of numbers on Instagram, her feed holds a distinct appeal nonetheless. Rania helps women find the perfect wedding dress. Rania is Canada’s first hijabi TV reality star and appeared on ‘Say Yes to the Dress- Canada.’ Asian Image: @sincerelymaryam  Maryam Asadullah is a fashion blogger from Houston, Texas. Her bio states, ‘Capturing modesty through the fashion lens.’ And Maryam does just that, with her stylish combinations of staple jeans paired with gorgeous, long flowing tops. With 164k followers, it is clear her appeal is engaging. Asian Image: @feeeeya  Saufeeya Goodson’s Instagram page boasts over 192k followers. She is based in the US and Dubai and is also one of the co-creators of @hijabfashion. Saufeeya’s Instagram page embraces everyday wear whilst making a chic statement in hijab. Asian Image: @sagaleeyaa  Sagal Ibrahim Shire is a Somali-British fashion blogger. Her hijab styling tips are both regal and timeless. Sagal’s pictures are a combination of culture and trend.
