Islamic Fashion and Design Council & Jakarta Fashion Week Announce Historic Collaboration

An agreement has been signed on an historic collaboration between the Islamic Fashion and Design Council (IFDC) and Jakarta Fashion Week. IFDC is currently in dicussions with several fashion weeks around the world and more partnerships will be announced in the coming months. IFDC “JFW is proud to have IFDC in our alliance network. Their support and development of the modest fashion industry is important, not only in Indonesia and the Middle East but also to the world. The knowledge and experience we will share through our respective platforms will positively contribute to the overall global fashion industry”, said the Director of Jakarta Fashion Week, Lenni Tedja. The collaboration witnesses the first time that organisers of Jakarta Fashion Week have committed to introducing a platform dedicated to Islamic/modest fashion, testifying to the massive and global growth that this global fashion sector is currently experiencing. All this will come to fruition on the runways in October, 2015. “IFDC is honoured to collaborate with Jakarta Fashion Week in such a meaningful way, and we are very proud to be the ones to bring this well-known and popular fashion week its very first fashion platform dedicated to the beauty of modest fashion”, said Islamic Fashion and Design Council (IFDC) Founder and Chairwoman, Alia Khan.  “This collaboration is indicative of the Islamic fashion sector’s development towards becoming a USD $500 billion-strong market, and we applaud the organisers of Jakarta Fashion Week on their foresight in recognising this demand.” As part of the collaboration, IFDC will be presenting two of its iFash™ designers on the JFW runway, as well as present an IFDC talk show, hosted by Alia Khan, participate in the event’s Fashionlink trade show, and dedicated press conference.  IFDC’s participating designers, Amber Feroz from the UAE and Tahir Sultan from Kuwait, offer the uberfash of iFash™, each presenting their own gorgeous style to the runway. Tahir Sultan is very well known for his ready to wear and is a big attraction for the modest wear consumer because he knows how to keep it stylish while giving adequate coverage. His signature style has made its way into couture as well with mouth watering works of art that everyone gravitates toward. Then there’s Amber Feroz, who compliments any ensemble with his stylish fusion work in a way that only he can take the abaya, for example, to a new level with looks ranging from trench coat like styles to the oversized outer garment that drapes so elegantly making every woman the envy of the crowd. Both of these designers will make heads turn on the runways of the upcoming Jakarta Fashion Week. “IFDC  will be presenting these designers because each of them brings something different in terms of stylisation, while at the same time offering sublime elegance and modesty, each in a unique way,” said Khan.  “In addition, we expect that IFDC’s talk-segment will enlighten the global fashion market on the incredible talent that iFash™ designers have to offer, as well as the depth of demand that still awaits attention!” Beximco, the textile giant with an array of interests including manufacturing, fabrics, retail, and media, are IFDC’s official sponsors for Jakarta Fashion Week. “You have to understand Beximco’s vision to know how special they are”, says Khan “they understand the fashion, textile, and retail world unlike any other”. They are the perfect fit for this fashion week and we are excited about other exciting initiatives we have coming up with them”. IFDC’s runway show will be presented at the Atrium court of Jakarta Fashion Week on 27 October at 8pm.  This will be followed, on the 28th of October, at 3pm by IFDC’s talk show, and attendees will be able to enjoy yet another dose of iFash™ at IFDC’s Trunk Show runway presentation, at 6pm on the 28th.  The dedicated IFDC press conference is also set for October 27th  at 12:55pm to 1:55pm at the JFW Fashion Tent Press Lounge. Beautiful gifts and samples will be given away by Beximco at all these sessions, not to be missed by anyone! Jakarta Fashion Week 2016 will take place from 24th to 30th October 2015 in Jakarta, Indonesia at the Senayan City mall.
