An explosive line up of fashion’s biggest names, including Dolce & Gabanna, Armani, Gucci, Diane Von Furstenberg, Stella McCartney and more, will feature under the Islamic Fashion and Design Council (IFDC) this October in Dubai – this is something that fashionistas and industry stakeholders will not want to miss!
IFDC once again collaborates with the International Textile Fair (ITF) on 11 and 12 October 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This season’s IFDC platform at the ITF will provide guests with a star-studded showcase including the likes of Armani, Gucci and YSL, as well as daily hijab, stylist and make-up tutorials and an exciting panel discussion with guest panelists Elrico Belligan and Nina Iskander.
“IFDC’s collaboration in the April season of the ITF yielded an overwhelming amount of attention and demand, and we felt that we just had to do it again!” said Islamic Fashion and Design Council (IFDC) Founder and Chairwoman, Alia Khan, whose panel discussion at the April event was left with standing-room only.
“And this round, expect more… we have some exciting guest speakers lined up! “Thanks to unique sponsors like Yellow by Beximco who go the extra mile for style and elegance, IFDC is able to produce an exhibition and style activities for both days of the event that will leave you wanting more!”
Under the creative management of IFDC, the Modest Fashion showcase will present a number of high-end, luxury designer looks to highlight the vibrancy, richness and creativity in the use of colour and textiles. Big name designers that have been secured in the exciting line include YSL, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Stella McCartney, Gucci and Diane von Furstenberg, brought to ITF by Fashionis.com in partnership with IFDC. IFDC Panel Discussion: Who’s Influencing Who?
IFDC’s panel discussion on ‘Who’s Influencing Who’ is expected to ignite conversation. The panel discussion, hosted by Alia Khan, will take place on 12 October 2015 at 12:00 noon in the ITF Discussion Presentation Area.
Khan will be joined by guest panelists including Roberto Cavalli’s Elrico Bellingan, a fashion consultant and editor of two fashion magazines, and Nina Iskander, an expert in the global fashion and beauty industry. “Culture, celebrity, fashion and manufacturing have reached an interesting point in the world today – we wonder who influences who! Do designers drive textile manufacturers to push fabric trends? Or, are celebrities, wearing lace and leather for example, influencing the fashion designers to create their collections in a specific direction?” said IFDC’s Development Director, Malika Laurent. “Added to this is the explosion of social media that also markets fashion in a totally new way, resulting in an amalgamation of the spheres of influence never seen before. IFDC’s panel discussion will look at this and try to pinpoint who drives who?”
