Effortless Skincare & Makeup Finds

DSC_0167 DSC_0195 Skincare/Prep: Boots Gentle Eye-Makeup Remover, Rodan + Fields Gentle Cream Wash, Blistex Silk & Shine, Laura Mercier Day Cream.   My skincare routine is very basic and almost non-existent. I have normal skin so it’s never extremely oily or dry. I generally remove my eye makeup before bed with these makeup remover pads. To cleanse, I use the gentle cream wash which works perfectly with my skin, never drying or irritating. I like to moisturize my face before bed and before applying make-up during the day. I love Laura Mercier’s repair day cream, which I believe is actually my mother’s but it’s been in my bathroom for a couple months, so it’s technically mine now. It has a nice fresh scent and hasn’t caused me to break-out or anything, so it’s a keeper. Any old lip moisturizer will do, I used the standard Blistex Silk & Shine today. DSC_0212 DSC_0198 Face: Maybelline FIT me Shine-Free foundation in ivory(used as concealer), Sigma f60 Foundation Brush, Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation in OC-3, Missha B.B Cream in no. 31, Sigma f80 flat kabuki brush. I just recently started using this Maybelline “FIT me” foundation as an under eye-concealer, I love the moisturizing texture and it gives amazing coverage. On most days I use the Missha BB cream instead of foundation.I fell in love with this BB cream last year. It gives your face a really flawless matte finish without feeling/looking cakey. It also has SPF 42. For foundation appropriate excursions, I use this Koh Gen Do foundation which is basically liquid gold. I’ve never found an actual foundation that I’ve loved so much. It leaves you with a slightly dewey natural finish and blends into your skin immaculately. For this post I applied the Koh Gen Do, but I thought my favorite everyday BB cream was necessary in mentioning. I use my flat-top brush to apply the foundation to my cheeks and forehead and then I go in with the smaller foundation brush to get under my eyes, around my nose, etc. DSC_0233 DSC_0280 DSC_0283 DSC_0286 Bronzer/Blush: Mac Powder Blush in “Blunt”, Too Faced Natural Bronzer in “Sun Bunny” There’s probably a rule against using bronzer to set your foundation, but anyways, I apply a light dusting of this matte brown Mac blush(bronzer in my eyes) all over my face to give it some warmth. Then I usually contour below my cheek bones, jaw-line, and temples with this Too Faced bronzer. It has just a hint of gold and minimal sparkles. DSC_0246 DSC_0264 DSC_0268   Eyebrows: Naked Palette’s “Buck” and Sigma E65 Brush. Most important step! I typically use an Anastasia eyebrow pencil, but mine just ran out. So I’m improvising with my Naked Palette. I fill them in lightly, just enough to darken any sparse areas and to exaggerate my brow shape. Set with my Anastasia brow gel.(Pictured below) DSC_0298 I applied a bit of Nars “Albatross” illuminator to the tops of my cheek bones. DSC_0306 DSC_0315 DSC_0325 DSC_0331 Eyeshadow: Nars “Silk Road” Duo, Naked Palette’s “Toasted” and “Creep” I really like to use rosey and/or mauve-y neutrals on my lids. Here, I chose the lighter, almost peachy shadow from the Nars duo and applied it to my entire lid. I then took the color “Toasted” and worked it into my outer lid and crease. Using a Sigma “E05” liner brush, I applied a thin smoky line of “Creep” onto my lash line. I used Lorac’s “Front of the Line Pro” liquid liner(pictured below) to create a winged eye. Just discovered this about a month ago and it has made it’s way into my coveted mascara favorites, alongside Make-Up-Forever “Great Smoky Lashes” andMaybelline Lash Stiletto. Now the picture part took longer, I had to get my sister to improvise for me and she didn’t always get the focusing on point but hey, it works. Source of article: mariaalia.com
