Choosing the right sunglasses to protect your eyes

When choosing sunglasses, one should think about more than just making a fashion statement with a pair of designer shades. One of the most important factors when to choosing sunglasses is protection. Being assured that one’s eyes are protected from the sun’s ultra-violet rays is essential. These rays can cause damage to the eyes and are linked to many different types of eye disease, so they should be avoided at all costs through the use of sunglasses. With this in mind, the most important times to wear sunglasses are when UV radiation is at its highest levels. Grey Lenses: Grey lenses are the most common sunglass lens color because they don’t change the value of color but are dark enough for bright sunny days while not so dark that they impair vision. If your grey lenses are polarized, they also reduce glare, making them great for most activities. These lenses provide 100% protection for the eyes against UV rays and decrease the amount of light that reaches the eyes.
